Day 78: Clean Room=Happy Girl

The perks of having a clean room:
You can walk without stumbling.
You find really cute dark blue shorts that you 100% forgot that you had.
You find a 5 dollar bill.
You have a made bed for the first time in approximately a year.
You find thumb tacks on the ground that could, and would have impaled your feet.
You get everything that was rotting riiiiight out of there, and quick.
You find 2 of your favorite books that you really want to reread this summer.
You find 31 bobby-pins.
You find your iHome. (How does a person lose that?!)
You find dresses that you forgot about.
You find the matches to cute sandals.
You have a happy mommy.
:)

.
.
.
and...
.
.
.
YOU CAN FINALLY GO PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS!

Day 77: Stupid Heart Icon Here

Sometimes we see things for how we want them to be, rather than how they really are. Each detail molded to fit what would be a perfect addiction to our "not-so-perfect" lives. But often, that's what disappoints us in the end. Once the realization hits, the storm clouds reappear, and once again we're caught in the rain without an umbrella. But while it lasts, the sun never goes down, and the rain is non-existent.

Following your heart is hard. It is scary - and sometimes can hurt us and fail miserably. However, a majority of the time it's those things we're drawn to the most. Maybe it's the risk of losing something important, or the fact that you're "taken", or maybe it's the fact that you have what others crave. Regardless of the reason, it seems that all humans have this desire. And while we talk about how different we all are, we're really all the same. The want for love will never disintegrate, and our will to go to extremes for the emotion will squish itself into lives to come.
.
.
.
I'm not just talking cheesy sappy "I am so in love with you, Jake Gyllenhaal" type of true love.
I am talking parents.
Best friends.
Sisters.
Brothers.
Cats.
(...cats?)
.
.
.
Tell those that you love that you love them.
Don't be afraid.
.
.
.
here goes...
.
.
.
aaaaaah...
.
.
.
um...
.
.
.
I LOVE YOU,  RYAN GOSLING!
Pheeeew.
:)

P.S. I love Summer

Day 76: Addict

Me and my coffee addiction.

Yes...
I milk it.

No...
I don't try to ease off.

Sure...
it's not practical.

Of course...
I waste so much money.

Durr...
it's soooo worth it.

Day 75: A-hug-it-out

As I was leaving for the day from Hoopfest, sitting in the heat (in my jeans, terrible mistake) waiting for the daddy, I witnessed something that actually made me feel enlightened.

The story went a little like this...

Two girls, maybe 9 and 6, were happily frolicking along the sidewalk in front of the Opera House, when dun dun dun the older sister, approximately 9 years old, tripped right-on-over her little sister. Being a little sister, I know how mad that must have made her. (Okay, you caught me. Little sisters are annoying, and we use things like that to our advantage. ARE YOU HAPPY?!)
As they were both lying on the ground, Little Sis begins to cry. Big Sis is flustered, says she is sorry, and goes to lift up Little Sis. She.is.not.havin.that. "OUUUUUUUUUCH, YOU'RE HURTING ME, STOOOOOOOOOOP!!" Is what she screams through sobs. So, Big Sis walks away, and returns to the rest of the family a little farther down the road. Little Sis lays on the ground, buries her head into her arms, and takes the 'dead man' position on the corner of Spokane Falls Blvd. and Bernard. A few moments later, Mama Bear appears on the site, and attempts to comfort Little Sis. Little Sis, through helpless sobs, tells Mama Bear the story, points to her crippled arm, and cries and cries aaaaand cries. In a lot of cases, a mother would start to explain to her daughter that she would be just fine, that she was so sorry that she had been hurt, and maybe even slightly bash the sister that had hurt her "soooo baaaaahd." However, Mama Bear took a different, and much more affective approach.
She wrapped her arms around Little Sis, and silently embraced her. As I watched with a small grin on my face, Little Sis slowly stops crying, wraps her arms around Mama Bear, and forgets the troubles her arm was giving her. After a solid 5 second hug, they grab hands, proceed down the block, and reunite with the family further down the street that had watched this whole incident. Big Sis takes a stance in front of Little Sis, hugs her tight and kisses her on the head. All is forgotten, and all are happy.

The power of a hug.
When you want to pout, hug it out.

Go hug someone today...
does more than you think.

"A hug is a handshake from the heart."

Got asked a lot of interesting questions.
Smelled a lot of interesting smells.

It was all very interesting.

It was fun to watch "Mo Money Mo Ballin'" as well.
Goooood laughs.

Day 70: D.C.C.F

DestistCoffeeCleanFrisbee
DCCF

Dentist, Dentist, you are fun. Not because I like you, but because I was numb.
I watched the movie Cars, and Madagascar 2. When I got bored I had something to do.
The laughing gas is strange, but I suppose pretty sweet. The dentists' was of giving a good old fashioned treat.
But at last it's time to say goodbye, for my time here is done.
I left with a two silly bands... so in my book i've won.
.
.
and then...
.
.

You're hot, you're cold.. You're blended, you're sold.
You smell like heaven, and you aren't super shy. Everything I look for in the perfect guy.
You make me feel better no matter what the case, I think about you always, love the thrill of the chase.
And when we aren't together it's something I can hardly take. No but really, my body literally shakes.
So, I give up for the rest of my days, i'll cave into my unhealthy crave.
Coffee, you're my best friend. We are a team until the end.
.
.
and then...
.
.
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you so much. If I could, i'd present you with a sucker-punch.
Sitting in my room, just dreading my fate. Did I mention my word of choice for you is 'hate'?
Cleaning, you represent the wrongs of this place, I wish you could see the discomfort on my face.
Okay, okay.. maybe I should just keep my room clean. Then the vision of a dirty room is one that won't have to be seen.
.
.
and then...
.
.
I love my friends, I love them all. Whether they be short, or whether they be tall.
We like to go to parks, and play games that 5 year olds made. Our joy of being together never does fade.
Then on the way home, we blast Jason Durulo and Katy Perry. Do we sing loud and proud? Well duh, Very.
I love the people who consume my time, aaaah shoot i'm all out of rhymes.

.....K bye!

FRIENDS SINCE SECOND GRADE :)
Best Friends boyfriend.
I highly approve.

Day 69: Hiccups

Interesting Fact about Ali:
I get the hiccups when I eat hamburgers and bagels.
Weird? Yes, yes, I know.

It is an instant reaction that my body has. A hamburger reaches my lips, and immediately HICCUP. With every bite comes a hiccup, and with every hiccup comes a new bite... I mean, it's my dinner, I gotta eat it!

Now, I did some research, and...

Turns out that if you are hiccuping while eating you should try putting two fingers above your eyebrows, and if that doesn't work, sugar on the tip of your tongue.
.
.
.
My intelligence questions this.

Anyhoo...
Nice day with Tom.
Then Austy, Steph, and Amanda.

Summer, you're too good to me.

Day 68: Daddy

My Dad Is:
hilarious
geeky
hard working
incredibly smart
annoying sometimes
stubborn
kind hearted
 a romantic to my mommy
a loving husband
a caring dad
an amazing teacher
awesome at monkey impressions
a role model
something to look up to
crazy
a LOTR lover
a WSU student
encouraging
bald
a technology wiz
a coffee addict (where'd I get it?)
a pizza obsessor
a former cook
a TREKY
a cat whisperer
a polo wearer

I love you Daddy, I wouldn't change a thing about you.
...Okay, maybe I would make you mess with me less.
.
.
.
Naaaah.

Day 67: Garrett

Today was a lovely day.
Yep.
Real good.
Thanks Tom!

After spending my day with Thomas, I came home to find my cute (and rambunctious) cousin Garrett in my living room with my sister. He is 5, and he is hilarious. We watched Tangled (which I was waaaay more excited to watch than he was, considering it is one of my favorite movies), and Gnomeo and Juliet. I can't say I loved that one. I have a weird thing about gnomes...
Here are some examples of his cute 5 year old lingo:
.
.
.
"Garrett, where's southern California?" "How you say, the middle of Japan. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT?!"
"Andie, what are you playing?" "Angry Birds." "Ohhh, when birds are angry they are bad! Poop all over people."
"Gnomeo says this in a minute. And if i'm right, don't come cryin' to me!"
"Hold on to the rail, please, Garrett." "Oh, holding on to the rail is what I do best."
"Garrett do you like that milk?" "Oh yeah, I like it. It doesn't ruin my day."
"It's hard to believe we don't have ears like bunnies."
*At 9:50* "Garrett, are you getting tired?" "No, it's not my bedtime yet, ya know." "Well when do you go to bed?" "6:30..."
.
.
.
5 year olds are fun. They are energetic. They have trouble listening sometimes.
And I love them.

Day 66: Kick-Off

Day 65: Summer Day 1

Well, today I am a senior.
Once school was out, my friends and I took advantage of our freedom; we drove around, we listened to music real loud, we went to Panda, we had a campfire, we played "Ninja", and us girls... we drank Monsters. Ew, oh my god, ew.

Did I mention that we played around in a field?
.
.
.
Did I mention that I look like a vampire?

...I really do. My skin is almost translucent.

Annnnnnnnnnnyway - I love you Meggs, Manda, Stephers, and Rhia!

Day 64: People

School is over, and I am happy.
Awwwww yeah maaaan.

.
.
.

Anyway, today was a nice day. I have come to realize that no matter what is going on in the rest of the world, the people we surround ourselves with can completely make you forget anything that has ever been bad. You don't even have to be doing anything. We can just be happy. Whether it be hanging out in Albertson's, or sitting while crying watching The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants - the people I have in my life completely make me. So maybe things suck, and yeah, they're going to sometimes. But be with the people who make you the happiest, and I think you'll find that you'll forget about the people who don't.

Day 60: Disney

101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan (Wendy) are the only two Disney cartoon features with both parents that are present and don't die throughout the movie.

Is this real life?
Come on Disney... this is awful.

But okay, let's think about it.
.
.
.
The Lion King: Mufasa... maaaaan, you got trampled. I cry every time.
Beauty and the Beast: Do we ever know your mom, Belle? Where is she?
Tarzan: AAHH HAH! BOTH YOUR PARENTS.... die. Oh no.
Pochahontas: Mommyless.

Snow White: ....a whole bunch of small men?
The Jungle Book: Raised by wolves.

WOW Disney, way to be a Debbie Downer.
A Negative Nelly.
A Sad Susan.
A Miserable Marlin.
A Pathetic Patty.

(Take no offense if your name is Debbie, Nelly, Susan, Marlin, or Patty)

This is a midnight blog, I didn't really skip a day.

Day 58: The berries are unreal...

Them berries at that there place are a real good.
The berries at da place are like so good.
Oh but the berries, at the place, their taste...
I love dem berries at dat place.
The berries, ras specifically, that Rocket Market has to offer are exquisite!

I love my best friends, they couldn't possibly be more wonderful! Just look at em'!

Day 57: Persephone

Today I lived the life of Persephone;
The goddess of Spring.
The queen of the Underworld.
The niece and wife of Hades. (ooooh weird)
English projects are a fun time.
.
.
.
So are late start days :)
.
.
.

6 more school days.
AGHSWCISFHRVEOGJDFNlbkfgnqlakngLB
...that was happiness.

P.S feel like you need a good happy cry?
Watch proposal videos on youtube.
I did.
No regrets.
Except for never wearing waterproof mascara and putting myself in situations that  I know i'll cry a lot...

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Day 56: Dentist Terror

I really do not like the dentist. I know that a lot of kids say this as they grow up, cough cough Jeremiah, and I admit, I have never had some scarring experience from the dentist, but it's just not a good feeling in there. BUT TODAY... oooooooh.... awful. The girl was aggressive! She hurt my teeth, drilled my gums, and pushed her machinary into my tongue on many occasions. She also tried to get me to do part of her job, and when I tried and didn't understand what she was asking, she snappily grabbed the tool from my hand and went back to her business. What is this all about?! Bad dentist mood shift.

.
.
.

And then there were these guys...

Summer, I can feel you.

You feel like happiness and tank-tops.
Like shorts and sunscreen.
Like Amanda and her boat.
Like headbands and sunglasses.
Like watermelon and grass.
Like laughter and harmony.

You feel wonderful.

Monday, June 6, 2011

Day 55: Sissy

I am not sure what brought the urge to do this, but something brought it hard.
So here goes...

Dear Sissy,
You are the best person that I know. You are beautiful inside and out, and have a personality that is rarely found. All of your qualities are respectable (except maybe when you repeat everything you think is funny...), and I am so proud of everything you have done with your life. You're about to graduate college... what the... and that is so freakin' cool. I love you SO much.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone adores their sisters. That not everyone is lucky enough to have a person in their lives that loves you unconditionally no matter how many times they have spied on you, ripped up your things while distracted, hit you, put ice in your pants, or been a plain brat. I forget that there are limited amounts of people in the world that are even close to as genuine and incredible as you are, and that I am the lucky one to have you around. I forget that not all sibling hang out because they want to, but because they have to. That not ever sister cackles. I forget that not all 6 year older sisters say things at 11 at night like "Alison Daisley you are cordially invited to a sleepover in the living room. .....please RSVP. Why aren't you RSVPing?" That not ever sister buys the little sis so many coffees that she lost track years ago. I forget that not everyones sister makes sure to "concert call" their little sister during cool bands so that she can taste a little piece of it. That not all sisters buy Coldplay concert tickets for her and the little sister for the little sister's birthday.

Every quality that you have is one I would be lucky to get. And every person that is in your life is so daaayum lucky to be.

I love you Sissy. Foreva and Eva.

Day 54: A-Growin' Right Up

Wasn't I five just yesterday?
Or was that a few days ago...?

*
*
WHAT?! That was 12 years ago?!

*
*

Growing up has happened real quick.
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed it.
However, I don't feel 17. Oh, maybe that's because i'm not quite 17 yet... Anyway, as I sat down to write my blog, I had NO clue what to write about for today. I painted a mini rocket for physics, I did some English homework, I creeped on Facebook and HARD, I got coffee and paid in all quarters (so sorry cute-curly-haired Starbucks boy), and I sat in my 100 degree bedroom for hours, listening to Norah Jones and Jack Johnson. And then it hit me.... just a little more than a year from this very moment I will be sitting in a dorm room somewhere, probably drinking tea and reading a Nicholas Sparks novel. I am too little. It was just a month ago, I swear, that I cracked my head open on the big toy at school and thought I was for sure going to die. And it was probably last week that I convinced my dad to give me "the first sip" and the "last little bit" of his Granita, because I was too young to have a whole coffee to myself. And, okay this has to be right, yesterday? The day before? When I was petrified of entering Chase because I was so convinced that I would get lost or thrown in a trash can? No? That was 5 years ago?!

Growing up happened real quick.
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed it.
But growing up happened REAL quick...

Day 53: Manito

I love the park.
The birds that always look like they want to just kill me.
The people who chose my section of vision to stand and look at nothingness.
The little kids who pull at strings that are under my feet.
"Family Day" (Not really real. But there were probably 400 families at Manito today)
And Tom! Tom, you made the park day.

MACKENZIE AND SARAH:
I am going to miss you so much. But I am so proud of both of you girls. Thank you for an awesome grad/birthday party!
Love you Macky (:

Day 52: What I like

You guys don't really know about the things I like...
Hm.
Want me to tell you?
Oh, okay, cool.
I will.
You don't have to beg.

The things that make my world go round:

1. My birks. Oh, a girl hasn't lived until her feet have set up camp in a birkenstock.
2. My Grandmas shoes. Not only are they so comfortable, but it's fun for me to carry a little piece of her around :) Grandma was stylin'.
3. Coffee. $$$$ <--- takes it all. But I need it.
4. Arizona Ice Tea. This brings me happiness and contentment. I just can't be in a bad mood while consuming these.
5. Sweaters. Mmm, mmm good. And practical!
6. Cuffs. Jeans just aren't complete without a good cuff.
7. Dresses. Okay, yeah. I'm obsessed a little. So what?
8. Crime Shows. One of those things that you don't always want to look, but you just must...
9. Nicholas Sparks novels. I don't know why. They usually make me feel terrible at the end. Makes me wish I lived on a beach somewhere with some boy who tells me my eyes look like the sunrise or something. But my eyes are brown. Therefore, the option of cute compliments are limited; "Your eyes look like dirt." "Oh my god, you're incredible." ....awkwaaaaard.
10. Music. Specifically... actually no, I can't even pick. The Shins, The Format, Brett Dennen, Muse, The Fray, Coldplay, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Regina Spektor, Laura Marling, Death Cab For Cutie...
11. Car rides. Freaky, but I SO do.
12. Old movies. Mmmm :)
13. LORD OF THE RINGS. dskghvriogjqeakgrjbhdfbikhtfdqgiojf <---- verbal love
14. Non-Judgmental People. That's where it is, my friends.
15. Writing. I'm sure no one would have guessed this...  errr.
16. The Rain. Ooooooooooh, you will find me my very happiest while in the rain.
17. Boy Meets World and Friends. Have I seen every episode of both shows ever made? .....well..... is that cool?
18. Letters. I wish I got some.........
19. Parks.
20. Listening to music loud in the war, with the windows down. Heaven.

Well, there I am.

I am a little strange.

A lot confused.
&
Pretty happy.

:)

Day 51: Rain

I am almost my happiest when it rains.
Rain is so cool!
It is refreshing.
It is beautiful.
And it is proof of life.

Rain on me more.

Day 50: Seniors

Tonight was our last choir concert.
While I am sadder than all get out, I am also happy.
I am happy that I got to have so many incredible people in my life this year.
I am glad I made so many new friends.
I am glad I made a couple best friends.
I am glad you made a mark on my heart!

I love you all so much, seniors.
And I am so excited for you to be starting your lives FO REAL.
You'll all do magical things.

Day 49: Colors

Don't worry...
some of the cool stuff from San Fran came home with me.
                         My sweatshirt changed colors.
                                          So did my nail polish.

Day 45: Recap Day 3

San Fran: Day 3

Festivaaaaaaal!

This festival I speak of is the one that the Ferris Music Department swept the floor at.

Some of my Canterbury babies and Me.
Wait, what's that?
We got gold?
We got the title of the highest ranked choir in the festival?
What?

Oh yeah...
WE ROCKED.
:D
